Enjoy a Saturday evening fireworks display at Crow Pie Cottage

Matlock Bath in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District

Illuminations & Fireworks Nights 2019

Matlock Bath Illuminations is a fun-packed family event featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent.

During the 8-week season Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders' Association decorate themed models with an array of coloured lights. The models are mounted on rowing boats and paraded on the River Derwent each Saturday (7.45pm and 9.15pm in September and from around 7pm in October) and Sundays from 7pm in Derwent Gardens, giving a unique display. The boats can only be viewed on admission into the gardens.

There are fantastic firework displays on Saturday evenings from 7th September right through to 26th October. The fireworks light up the skies around Matlock Bath in multi-colours. The firework displays begin at 9pm with the best viewing positions being in the garden of Crow Pie Cottage!

Chatsworth House -
Cavendish family home since the 1550s

Chatsworth, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is set in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire, on the banks of the river Derwent. Each year Chatsworth hosts a number of special events including the Horse Trials, Country Fair and Christmas market; and from November the lower floors of the house are transformed for the annual Christmas displays.

The Heights of Abraham

Cable cars and hilltop country park with caverns and more. Originally the Heights of Abraham was only accessible to visitors who could scale the steep slopes of Masson Hill. In 1984 Britain's first alpine style cable car transport system was installed. Rising from the valley floor, the observation cars transport you in comfort and safety and allow stunning views of the Derwent Valley and surrounding Peak District.
